You have made the decision to dramatically enhance your family's life through Tae Kwon Do ( The way of the hand and foot)! This is a structured program that will allow gradual and thorough improvement through out the belt levels.

Want to get in shape, have fun, and learn self-defense? At Kim's Karate we have 18 years of experience offering a variety of martial arts classes for all ages and skill levels.

All classes are taught by state-certified instructors at affordable rates.

Classes emphasize discipline, coordination, and development of physical strength while developing character and integrity.

Class sizes range from 15 to 25, and are arranged by skill level with tests given as students improve for belt graduations. Our belts are earned, never bought!

Belt Levels  

Beginner Phase

No Belt is where basic motor skills and Martial Art Philosophy is developed. You will notice things such as bowing, addressing the instructors as "sir", and loud "Kias" when they kick and punch. Each belt level has their own curriculum and students will be invited to test based on learned motion and to graduate on to the next level. Testing requires a white Kim's Karate uniform with the mandatory patches affixed. There is also a testing fee at each belt that varies depending on your membership type and will be specified on testing notifications given 2-4 weeks in advance.

White Belt This level encourages control and confidence. Parents are required to purchase protective sparring gear. This gear will give the protection they will need for controlled-contact. This is a very motivational activity that develops confidence, control, and ability. The equipment is reasonably priced and consists of Head, Chest, Hand, Foot and Shin Guards. With your first set we are including a FREE Kim's Karate gym bag. Only Kim's Karate equipment is allowed as permissible in class.

Yellow Belt Time to beak that first board!!! Confidence, accuracy, speed, and power is now at the fore front of this level. Motivation reaches new heights at this level.

Intermediate Phase

  

Green, Blue, Purple Belt. At this stage students will make use of their first traditional martial art weapon. The "sais" are a pair of defensive tools that will motivate and educate students on hand/eye coordination and develop a respect in the defensive nature and history of Karate.. Jumping, spinning, and more open handed techniques are employed through these levels and start to retain and show consistency in their skills and their character development. This is the most important factor in knowing the students commitment level and willingness to strive for more advanced goals in Martial Arts and in life!

ALMOST THERE!

  

We now see the Black Belt in or near future! Advance training consists of Full Contact Sparring, this is the stage that gets everyone prepared for The Ultimate Goal (Black Belt)

Now students start to realize their full potential as their skills are sharpened for any situation dealing with self-defense. Remember that a Black Belt Student is a leader not a follower and must know when and when not to use their skills.

Black Belt Testing is when it all pays off and you too may become an instructor. This is the stage when you reflect back on all your training and remember the hard times and the great times and continue on to become, not just good, but GREAT. The only way to do it is TO DO IT ALL THE WAY!
